Warranty Agreement Policy/ Service Terms & Conditions
Our Warranty Agreement Policy and the Service Terms and Conditions were developed for adults woodworking people. People who want to get their Shopsmith headstock repaired to the original factory specifications with no Drama.
I am almost 70 years old retired NASA engineer and a woodworker with over 30 years experience restoring and rebuilding Shopsmith machines. My goal is to rebuild your machine the best way I can. It will look and function like a new machine. I want you to enjoy using your Shopsmith safely for many years to come. If you have a sentimental value for the machine beyond a woodworking tool, then please let me know upfront. This way I will make a note of that when doing the repair. Please note, as an old engineer I do Shopsmith repair to keep my mind busy. I do not have much time for drama and cry babies.
We guarantee 100% customer satisfaction and are committed to resolving any issues that may arise during the repair process. Our simple and straightforward warranty agreement policy and service terms & conditions are written in plain English to avoid misunderstandings and save both parties time, frustration, and money.
Thank you,
Alex
Our warranty covers two types of repair conditions:
A. Repaired Headstock: Your repaired headstock is covered for 1 year for parts and labor starting from the day you receive your machine. Any damage during shipping is covered by FedEx ground insured shipping. If your machine needs repair during the warranty period, simply call us to get an RMA number, then ship it back to us for a free repair. You only pay for shipping costs.
This warranty is not for the electrical motor unless the motor was repaired with the headstock. If the electric motor was repaired during the same time of the headstock then it is covered for 90 days from the day it was received by the customer. No warranty for any other electrical components since parts can fail from age, voltage spikes, lightning, shop wiring problems etc.
This warranty will be voided if you tinker with or do any disassembly or adjustments to the machine without my approval or guidance. The customer is responsible for the shipping cost.
B. Replacement Headstock: If you purchase a replacement headstock, it is covered by 1 year on the mechanical parts and 90 days on the electrical motor from the day you receive it. Call us to get an RMA number, then ship it back for a free repair. You only pay for shipping costs.
C. Unrepairable Headstock: After inspection, if the headstock or motor is not repairable, we will contact you with the explanation. You may choose to have it shipped back to you for a $75 flat fee for repacking and boxing plus the shipping cost, or recycled. If we do not hear from you within 30 days of the inspection date, the headstock or motor will be sent for metal recycling.
D. Replacement Parts: If you wish to return a replacement part, call us to request an RMA number. Return the part in its original condition within 15 days of receiving it. We will credit your payment method for the item cost less shipping charges, with a 15% restocking fee.
This policy will be voided if you tinker with or do any disassembly or adjustments to the machine without my approval or guidance.
